More Pumpkin Fun

This weekend we enjoyed more fun in the pumpkins!

The Arboretum
On Saturday morning we went to the Arboretum to get more pics in the pumpkins.  We planned to arrive by 10am, but were just a few minutes later because I wanted a hot chocolate from McDonalds.  Just as we pulled over to turn in to the parking lot for the Arboretum the lot attendants pulled out the "Lot is full" sign!!  No joke... that hot chocolate was to blame.  So we had to ride the shuttle bus again... I was thinking that it would be a hassle with the two kids and our stuff, but it was no problem at all!  It is actually nice because you don't have to walk far this way and it is a super quick ride.  Once inside it was pretty busy of course.... lots of people getting pictures in the pumpkins.  :)  We snapped some cute pics of the kids... Cameron has "helmet hair"... ha ha, but that is ok.  :)   We didn't spend too long because after taking pictures it was close to lunch time and we needed to head out.  I am sure we will return soon and hopefully next time we can stay longer.

The bus ride over

Our kiddos- Emerson was not wanting to take a picture!

Pumpkin Village- Flower Mound
Later in the afternoon we met Ashley, Wade, and Nora at the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound.  Earlier in the week Ashley and I bought a $10 Groupon for $20 worth of coupons so we were looking forward to some fun.  We didn't know this before, but there are 2 different patches right next to each other.  When you drive up it looks like one giant pumpkin patch with games and stuff to do.  But this is not the case... they are NOT working together.  Ashley confirmed this when they arrived as one angry guy wanted a refund for the $5 parking fee because he meant to go to the other patch, but had already paid.  After we all parked and got out we thought that the pumpkin patch we needed to go to was the one on the other side of the fence from where we parked... so our options were to get in the car again and drive around or jump the fence.  We opted to jump the fence... so we approach and there are some kids guarding the property lines... so Wade pays $5 for us to all jump the fence.  We unbuckle the kids, pass them over the fence, lifts the strollers over the fence, and walk over to the booths and tents at the other patch.  At this point it is a little windy, cloudy, and seems like it is about to rain.  While we are walking it does start to sprinkle, then it gets a little heavier... but still, we are not going to give up.  We find a lady and tell her about the Groupon and she says "Oh, that's not for THIS patch, it's for the OTHER patch" and points to the patch where we just came from.  Pretty quickly Ashley and I see the humor in the situation... it's raining, I needed to feed Cameron, we jumped the fence and walked all the way over to the other patch for no reason.  But we are all good sports so we head back to the first patch... when we get to the fence the kid watching notices it is us and we explain we have a Groupon... we don't get a  refund, but judging by the animosity the patches have for each other maybe it is good we were not charged again!  We all get over the fence and head to the tents at the right patch.  Then we find out the Groupon coupons we bought aren't good for food, just events.  We missed that fine print!  After all the back and forth we still enjoyed letting the kids play at the patch.  Nora loves bounce houses and had fun, Emerson ran around the pumpkins and rode a pony.  Both girls looked at the animals in the petting zoo.  After that adventure we went to their house and enjoyed some chili and cornbread.  Ashley always makes great food and we had a great time visiting with our wonderful friends.
Gotta love the golf umbrellas

Nora is so big now!

It was a busy day for sure, but lots of fun.  Today has been a relaxing day... both kids are napping so I uploaded some pics... laundry is done... things are picked up around the house...  football is on tv.  After they wake up we will play and hang out some more.   It's a great day. :)
