Emerson's Adventures!

Last Friday night there was a carnival in "town" in the Central Market parking lot off Coit and GB.  Frank saw it on the way home and stopped to ask the employees what the age requirements were because he was so excited to see if Emerson could do the rides.  Sure enough, she was old enough to do some rides by herself and some rides with an adult.  So when Frank got home he shared the exciting news with Emerson and she was thrilled to go to the carnival.  I was a bit nervous about her riding those rickety carnival rides, but my fears were eased when we arrived and things looked pretty safe.  :)  Emerson couldn't wait to get into the rides and poor Cameron wanted to as well.  But poor little guy was not quite tall enough for most of the rides.  Emerson and Frank rode 4 rides with Emerson... the spinning ride, a roller coaster, the bumper cars and the giant slide.  This was her first carnival and first time to ride any of those rides and she had the most amazing time.  The absolute joy on her face was priceless and it really makes me excited to take both Emerson and Cameron to Disney World in the future... when it makes more sense.  :)

We also decided to go ahead and give Emerson the bike we wanted to give her for her birthday.  It isn't that far in advance and this was she can be enjoying it all summer. :)  We went to Academy to pick it out and let her try out a couple of bikes.  She definitely knew which one she wanted!  She was so thrilled to get a bike!  We even got a little bell that I have attached so she can ring it as she rides.  She had so much fun riding it along the street with Frank close behind.  He was so excited also and got his bike out to join her going up and down the street.  It is going to be fun watching her ride and us riding with her.  We will be working with Cam so he can get really good with riding his tricycle too!

Emerson, is this the bike you want?  YES!  :)

Cameron's Race Car 2nd Birthday Party!

We had so much fun last weekend at Cameron's race car themed 2nd birthday party.  We were blessed with beautiful weather and so many family and friends were able to join the celebration.  This was our first birthday celebration in the new house and we were able to enjoy the patio and backyard.  I really love the layout of our house and am looking forward to celebrating special occasions here for many years!

For the party, Cameron was sporting a super cute birthday t-shirt that was custom made by Megan Martinez through her Etsy shop, https://www.etsy.com/shop/PeasnCarrotsBaby. The main attraction for the kids was the cardboard race cars that our wonderful friend Wade brought from his company, www.allboxedup.com.  The race cars are $20 each for anyone who would like to purchase a new one to decorate.  :)  The cars were fantastic and the kids enjoyed painting them with the washable paints we had out and the markers.  After painting everyone enjoyed the hot dogs, baked beans, chips, fruit and sipped on the assorted "pop" I got at a local popcorn store called Crave.  Then we had the car races.  We lined up the kids four at a time to have them run in races.  After the race they got to pick a little Matchbox race car as their prize.  Then we enjoyed cupcakes that were iced in blue, green or white.  Those blue cupcakes sure did stain everyone's mouths, tongue, and the little kiddos faces!  We sang Happy Birthday and Cameron moved on to opening presents as some guests were needing to head out.  Everyone who came got a little goody bag that contained a race car, race car tattoos, race car gummies and some candy.  And all the adults got some yummy popcorn from Crave.

Cam loves all of his gifts (and so does his sister!).  He has been busy playing with all the new toys.  His Aunt Amanda got him a Radio Flyer tricycle that he attempts to ride and then decides to push around.  We will work on his cycling skills.  :)

Here are pictures from all the fun!!  And thanks to everyone who came to help celebrate!

Spring 2014 Memories: Tulips, Bluebonnets & Easter!

I was sort of hoping that it would feel like time wasn't passing by so quickly this Spring since we were past the hustle of the winter season, but I was wrong!  We are already into May and it seems like it should still be March!!  Lots has happened in the last couple of months, both before and after the vacation Frank and I took last month.  I always take Easter pictures for a card and managed to squeeze that in before the Cabo trip.  I also got some Bluebonnet pictures of the kids, and we had a wonderful Easter.  So here is a big dump of pictures from the last many weeks!!  I will also post about Cameron turning 2!!  (yes!) and his super fun party as soon as I can find a minute.  :)

Here is what we have been up to!

Easter Card Pictures:
Each year I try to take pictures so I can send an Easter card.  We were able to get some pictures again this year that I want to share.  When I look at Emerson's pictures in particular I just can't get over how much she has grown and continues to grow.  Slow down sweet girl!!

Cameron's B-day Invite Pics:
We took some pics for little man's birthday invitation that I adore... don't you just want to give this sweetie hugs and kisses?!!   He is truly irresistible.  :)

Bluebonnets!!:
The Fujitsu field rebounded this year with beautiful bluebonnets.  I was glad to see their return since last year was pitiful.  :)  They were not as thick and abundant as in years past, but they were really lovely to see each day as I drove in and out of the parking lot.  It is such a pleasant reminder of Spring when they begin to pop up.  We got a few cute pictures on a super windy night and the kids had fun playing with their pinwheels, which I cleverly used as a prop and attention grabber.  :)

Easter 2014:
The weather this Easter was perfect and it was so nice to be able to let the kids enjoy the egg hunt with the neighborhood kids and also with our families after church on Easter Sunday.  I really adored the kid's outfits... I just look at pictures of our littles and melt.  They are such precious sweet children and we are so thankful for them.  Here are some pictures from Easter!

Poor Cam!  He needed a nap!  Forget the eggs!  :)
