In mid June we went on vacation to San Diego/Coronado Island with MomMom, Glenn and Sarah. It was a wonderful vacation!! We stayed at The Del in Beach Village, which was so nice! The weather for most of our vacation was perfect. I can see why so many people love San Diego because with a climate like that and the views that you have, it is hard to beat. We did so many fun things on this vacation... we enjoyed the amenities at the Del to start... they had delicious dining, beautiful grounds to enjoy and just steps away from a beautiful beach/coastline.
One day we drove to Anaheim to go to Disneyland. Dorthy bought us the VIP tour service so we had a personal guide to show us round and help get us to the front of the lines... it was pretty darn fantastic!! The guide, Kimberly, knew where to go and the fastest way to get there, and as a result, we were able to pack a lot in to one day at the theme park. It was magical to see the kid's reactions to seeing the characters they have come to love on the Disney channel and from movies. Emerson and Cameron even got to meet Anna and Elsa and Olaf!! They were loving it!! We had lunch at Ariel's Grotto where they were able to meet even more characters and the food was so delicious... it really was!
Another day Sarah, Dorthy, the kids and I drove to LaJolla while Frank and Glenn golfed at Torrey Pines. We visited the Birch Aquarium and drove along the LaJolla coastline, stopping to see the seals at Children's Beach.
Visiting the world famous San Diego Zoo was also great fun. I think you would have to go there several times to see everything they have to offer. We did our best to see the attractions that were more unique like seeing the koalas and the pandas. We got some really good shots of the panda chomping away at the bamboo! The kids really enjoyed that day as they also got some fun face painting done, too!
We had a great amount of time at the ocean where the kids loved running and playing. At first Cameron wasn't so sure about the waves coming in... I think he worried about falling and he would yell at us to "get back here!" when we were walking along the shoreline. Such a little protector! He ended up loving it once we got used to it. It was fun watching them enjoy the beach, especially Emerson. She danced and pranced and made us all smile with her joy of the beach!
At the end of the vacation we got some wonderful family photos on the beach that included just our family, some maternity photos, Frank and the kids, and Dorthy with all of us and with the kids. I truly love the pictures we have and need to get them printed still and order photo books! Such beautiful images need to be shared! :)
