All the Spring Things

Our Spring was just as busy as our Fall and Winter with lots of fun time with family!  We enjoyed some very warm and beautiful days as well as many cooler days that were still filled with sunshine.  Spring is always a refreshing and hopeful time of year with the anticipation of the flowers blooming and the leaves appearing on the trees.  Here is a fairly quick recap of things we enjoyed doing this Spring.

Picnic at the Arboretum:
It was a gorgeous day to take Cameron and Finley to the Arboretum with friends.  We all enjoyed it!

Here are a couple random pictures from the Spring:

Easter 2016!
We enjoyed Easter with our families! After church we had delicious food and our own egg hunt, as is now a tradition.  While it was a challenge getting pictures that morning, we ended up with some super sweet pictures of our stinkers!

Bluebonnet Time!
Every year I look forward to the bluebonnets coming up in the fields.  Last year I remember I was still nauseas and I had help from my family with getting pictures of the kids.  This year it was wonderful to feel great and get these sweet pictures of the kids.

Mother's Day 2016:
This Mother's Day we went to Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum with my family and then to the Texas Discovery Gardens in Fair Park and the Aquarium.  It was such a fun time trying this local favorite for BBQ and then enjoying a nice stroll through the aquarium and gardens.  We really enjoyed this special day!

Cameron is 4!

Wow, I'm insanely behind in posting about our little guy turning 4!  Fortunately, I was much more timely with the celebration as we had a blast celebrating with friends and family at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison.  We had a military themed party that fit with the museum so it was fun to incorporate the military lingo a bit.

Cam is such a sweet and protective brother to both his big and little sis.  He may not want to share a toy, but by golly, if someone besides him tries to take something from his sisters he will step in to defend them.  He adores his baby sister and always wants to give her hugs and kisses.

There are so many things about Cam that I love to pieces... his big teeth smile, his hugs and kisses, his voice as he very specifically answers your questions.  The way he announces that he is awake in the morning as he comes down the stairs.  He is always wanting to build things with pillows or his Legos or the magna tiles.  He loves to read stories and is not too big to crawl in my lap sometimes.  He is always full of energy and I can't tell you where he gets it! He loves to laugh and sometimes Emerson can especially really get him going with laughter and it is contagious.  Just hearing his chuckle fuses you to join in!  He loves Reese, too, and gives her lots of snuggles and plays with her.  He wants to make sure everyone is taken care of it seems.  He has a very sweet heart.

His favorite foods are chocolate milk, bananas, yogurt, applesauce, pizza, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, corn dogs, watermelon, chips (of course!), Sonic slushes (ha ha), ice cream, oatmeal, cookies and more.  He's gotten sneaky about going in to the panty to get to food so if this continues I may have to put some things way out of reach!

It is crazy to think he will be going to kindergarten next school year.  He was just a baby not long ago at all, but is quickly growing so big.  We love our handsome and sweet Cameron so much!

Finley's Baptism

Our sweet Finley was baptized on April 10, 2016.  What a joy filled day it was with our family and some close friends there to celebrate baptizing and blessing our littlest sweetie.  Finley looked absolutely precious in her white dress with her little pink bow.  She did so great with everything and was so happy, as she always is!

Kindergarten Fun!

The week before last the Kindergarteners performed at the Kindergarten Round-Up at Bent Tree.  They were dressed in western looking clothes and did a great job.  I have some pictures and videos of the performance.

Her class is so small, which has been a huge blessing giving Emerson more one-on-on time with her teacher, Mrs. Pye.  Emerson loves school and loves her teacher.  She does not like her homework that we have to do each week, but it is unbelievable to me to see how much she has learned.  She is reading sentences by sounding out words and learning more and more sight words.  She is improving her handwriting and has gotten to great with writing lowercase letters and not just uppercase.  Now she is also spelling words and writing from memory.  Her math skills are also crazy impressive to me. She does word problems, addition and subtraction, counts to 100 (also by 5s, 10s, etc)  I'm so proud of her!

This past week they celebrated 100 days of school by dressing as 100 year olds and brought containers filled with 100 of some item.  We chose beads that we put into a jar.  She wore a dress and cardigan that we already had, I bought some $1 glasses from the store and used baby powder in her hair.  :)
